What can I expect on the day of my event?

  • The bus will arrive 10-15 minutes before the event start time. The bus driver will confirm with the host where to park & will set up our safety equipment for the event.
  • The bus needs 50 feet of space to park & be set up. We utilize quiet residential streets, parking lots, in front of your house/school/daycare, or even your driveway if possible! It's a good idea to save the space by either parking your cars in it or utilizing pylons.
  • We know the kids want to come play as soon as we arrive. Please keep them back while we set up.
  • Staff will go over the rules with the children & collect any additional waivers before inviting them onto the bus.
  • The Sensory Bus is a shoe free zone, we ask that the kids remove their shoes before entering. In rain/snow we will have the kids remove them inside on a towel & we will set them aside.
  • Children with AFO's (ankle foot orthoses) are welcome to wear their shoes onboard at all times.
  • Staff will guide the children throughout the Sensory Bus obstacles while parents take a break.
  • We would love to have the kids honk the horn before we have the children get off the bus.
  • Staff will pack up the outside safety gear and say goodbye before departing.
  • Parents are welcome to observe from the front landing or the back door if open. If a child is nervous without their parent we can accommodate this as well.
  • Take all the photos you'd like, we would love to see your smiling faces!
